On 26 July, the world's first 700 TEU river-sea direct delivery all-battery container ship, supported by CALB, was successfully launched in Yangzhou, marking an important step in the green transformation of shipping. As the initial series of zero-emission experimental ships in China, this vessel employs replaceable marine container batteries that are designed and developed by CALB. The ship employs power switching to accomplish a fully electric expedition. The ship set sail with three notable achievements: a design for direct control of the transfer between river and sea, the largest battery capacity for a new energy vessel, and the largest cargo capacity for an all-electric container ship.
CALB's
battery products are tailor-made for various marine battery systems and
are certified by both China Classification Society (CCS) and DNV for
certain products, the first domestic system developed by a Chinese team.
The marine battery range includes various cells, modules and pack
systems with capacities ranging from 163Ah to 320Ah.
